Today we have with us a brilliant acousticy punky musician , performing under the name CRATER FACE, check him out and show him some appreciation , he kills it every time.

So, tell the readers a bit about yourself.

"My name's Dru, I'm 21 from Milton Keynes and I make music under the name Crater Face."

What kind of music do you play?

"I play sad acoustic emo punk."

Sounds dope! So when did you start making music?

"I've been playing in bands for about six years now, writing songs for about three and running under Crater Face for about two years now."

What made you want to start making music?

"Having written a few songs and run some demos about a year before I kicked off the project, a few dramatic changes in my life made me reassess my priorities and gave me a bit of a kick up the ass. The first half of the first track on my first EP was actually just ripped straight from one of the demos, with the second half recorded when i went in to record some more tracks about a year later."

Biggest musical inspirations?

"I would say Jawbreaker and Knapsack as I really love their honest and sometimes desperate lyricsm. Aslo Gnarwolves, because Gnarwolves."

Good choices , Gnarwolves kick so much ass. top 5 albums?

"In no actual order, and subject to daily change: Jawbreaker-Dear You Sorority Noise-Forgettable Have Mercy-A place of our own Grown Ups-More songs Posture and the Grizzly-Busch Hymns

Who is your favourite band playing at the moment? Sorority Noise. See them live. They are absolutely incredible. Very few bands are better live than they are on record, but these guys absolutely slay." I saw you made a split with Proud Ember, how did that go?

"It was really cool. Alex and I get on really well, and it was great to see him at work in the studio. Elliot Wallet is also the coolest guy to record with."

Any more collaborations on the way?

"None planned, but I love doing guesties and collabing. What is the favourite show you have been able to play? Probably playing with Crywank and Luke Rainsford in Birmingham. Luke's a really close friend of mine, and Crywank are really lovely people. Plus we played outside in August, so the weather was sick and I could smoke during their sets!"

If you had to describe your music to someone who had never heard it what would you say?

"Quiet-then-loud-shouty-twangle-sadnoise."

Any new music coming out soon?

"I'm writing some new stuff, so hopefully should have another EP out about half way through this year."

Is there anywhere the readers can check out some of your tunes?

"I'm on Bandcamp at Craterfaceuk.bandcamp.com, and I'm on all the other musicy places too like spotify, but so is a thrash punk band called Crater face and a rapper too. I'm none of those (Although I wish I was)."

Thanks for chatting to us today, anything you want to say to the readers?

"Keep going to shows and supporting your scene!"
