Interview with PUSHING DAISIES

Hey, thanks for agreeing to the interview . So, tell the readers a bit about yourself.

"I'm Roberto and I'm the Vocalist and Guitarist in Pushing Daisies. The rest of the band are Tom (Drums), Conor (Bass) and Liam (Guitar) we range from 19-25 in ages." What kind of music do you play?

"We play Grungy Rock Emo stuff! Haha that's probably the best way to put it! A lot of feelings and riffs." What things can inspire you to write a new tune?

"A lot of the time it's the music that we are currently loving, at the moment we've been going back to listening to old Foo Fighters records but also been spinning a lot of Turnover and Somos. It can also be just picking up a guitar and playing around and something just happening which is always the best!" How did you all meet?

"Me and Tom met years ago when we used to be in a pop punk covers band playing horrendous versions of some absolute classics like New Found Glory and Fall Out Boy. We tried to make it into a real band but never happened. RIP Anchors Away haha! I started Pushing Daisies with a friend but our old drummer had to leave due to medical reasons so that's when I got Tom involved and we had a line up change and got Liam and Conor involved and we knew them from the local scene and getting drunk together at Reading Featival." Any new music on the way?

"We've been writing a lot of demos at home playing around with different styles that we're thinking of branching out too but nothing is set in stone yet but we might be playing a couple live to put out the feelers and see what people are digging!" So your new album Stay Sad is dope, how did it come about?

"Thanks bro! It's been out for a while now but we still love it! When we had the line up change we thought we needed to make some music to show everyone what we can do as this new band. We recorded and produced everything at home so it really does show what we can do as the new Pushing Daisies." How do you feel the album has done?

"I feel it's done really well for what we wanted out of it, after releasing it we had instant backing from Homebird Records who helped press it into vinyl which was one off the bucket list and it looks really good framed on my wall! We've done a few tours since it's been out and the reception has been great since!" Do you think your sound has changed from your first Ep Middle Child?

"It's matured so much! It's definitely gone from a couple of guys messing about trying to start their first proper band to a real band." What musicians inspired you to start making music?

"For me definitely Good Charlotte! They were the first CD I ever bought as a kid. And they're still sick!" Is there any music you listened to as a kid you still listen to now?

"Good Charlotte! Haha You Me At Six will always be my favourite band and bands from that rad era of emo kinda stuff like The Used" Top 5 albums at the moment?

You Me At Six - Night People WSTR - Red Green or Inbetween Foo Fighters - In Your Honour Adventures - Supersonic Home Lower Than Atlantis - Safe In Sound Favourite Gig you’ve played?

"Bournemouth from our tour in June with Dearist! Even the sound guy came out for a crowd surf for our last song 🤘🏻" What is the favourite track you have made?

"It has to be one of our latest demos but I got to keep my mouth shut on that haha!" Favourite gig you’ve been to?

"One of the best was definitely The You Me At Six Final Night Of Sin at Wembley" If you had to describe your music to someone who had never heard you before, how would you describe it?

"Crying into the best dirty burger you've ever had." Is there somewhere the readers can listen to you?

"Yep!" "Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp and grab a record from Homebird and spin it on your mums old record player!"

"It was definitely a plan to start a band and push it as far as we can! Although it was fun to do it!" Favourite local band at the moment?

"Definitely our boys in Tuskens, we've also had a listen to their EP that's gonna be coming out this year and it's rad!" Any gigs coming up?

"We got a huge show on the 19th March in Bristol supporting Foxing which is going to be sick! And we also have tour in May with our good friends in Dearist and Branch To Root." How is the music scene down there in Bristol?

"It's picked up a lot recently and doing really well with a lot of new bands who are already slaying it and giving Bristol a good name!" If you had some advice for people just staring up a band would would it be?

"Just do it. As Shia Lebeouf would say.." Any Merch on the way?

"With a tour in May I'm sure that's a good excuse to get some sweet stuff done... keep an eye out!" When did you guys start making music together?

"As this line up it's been about a year and a half!" Thanks for chatting to us today, anything else you want to say to the readers?

"As an exclusive to this interview we'll show you the poster for the tour that we are going to fully announce in a few days! Also if you can pick up one of our limited to 300 baby pink records from Homebird Records that would be rad!!"
