"What He Said" , Why GETRZ is a band to watch.

Sometimes , when you’re in the business of writing music reviews , interviewing musicians and generally talking about all sorts of musicy things, it is refreshing to hear something entirely new. That's where GETRZ come in!

Its like a piece of a puzzle has just fallen into place , a piece you didn’t even know was missing. This is what GETRZ have done for me. I would refer them to the UK’s answer to Slow Hollows, and they’re answering loud and clear. This is a track you can immediately see becoming a cult classic, you can imagine people in 20 years stumbling across it and loving the pure nostalgia hit but without the repetitive bore that comes with music that follows the trend of the era.

This soft track holds the promise of something more dark and developed, this is the first step in a career i have no doubt will be surrounded by indie rock revival that happens often around such definitive tracks. It is a phenomena you don’t see often, where with 4 dudes and some hard work you get this , this new sound that somehow makes you reminisce of times passed spent smoking in your garage at night.

GETRZ manage to take all of the memories of things passed from your brain, and present them back to you in song format. That may seem a little abstract but that is the best why i can describe it. I’m not saying this track is perfect, i don’t really believe any track is. But held within this track are the first forming soundscapes this band will bring in the future. The thing i like the most about this track is the floaty feeling behind the intro and the way it leads you into the music and hits you with a somewhat emotional chorus. The quintessential feeling of English mediocracy and the coping mechanisms employed by those living such a work. That is what i got from this song anyway. pitting the coping mechanisms against the innocence of youth to highlight the fact that these coping mechanisms are crutches and sometimes its okay to want to be worried about so that you know help is there and available. Please understand that is my reading of this song , endnote a definitive psychoanalysis of the members of GETRZ via their music.

To sum it up, GETRZ is definitely a name you should remember , bring on new tracks and let the boom in popularity happen. Just remember, you read about these dudes first on Kegger. Thank us later. There is a link to the absolute belter attached below along with their Facebook page. Show them some love!
