I had the opportunity to Interview Richard from DEAD HANDS for KEGGER , I missed their recent set at Pitfest Act 2 and I was gutted, so I wanted to make up for it some how and thought , hey, why not a little Q&A and free Publicity? These guys are absolutely killing it at the moment and if you don't know them we can't be friends until you listen to Nobody Exists On Purpose all the way through like, 8 times, or something. Anyway , here's the interview, show them some love.

Tell the readers a bit about yourself. "My name is Richard I'm the singer and I'm old" How did you all meet? "Me, the bass player Mogg and then Drummer Jenk all used to be in a band called Sexwolf! that band was finishing. Niall our guitarists band A Werewolf had just gone on an extended hiatus and was looking for a new band. Deb had asked to try out for Sexwolf! a few months before we'd finished so we asked her and Niall to come a long for a jam at our lock up. Zack joined a few months later on samples he is also in A Werewolf."

(Jenk r.i.p ) Who is your favourite local band at the moment? "We're totally loved up with Heriot they're our BFF's and an amazing band! We're also big fans of GOBLINS, Casket Feeder, Sharkteeth Grinder, Black Coast and I Cried Wolf!" That's cute, a bit of band-mance going on there. How did the band form? were you looking to form one or did it just kind of happen? "All our old bands were finishing and we all wanted to carry on gigging and writing so I guess it all did just kind of happen." Any new tracks in the works? "We have the frameworks of new material it's all being fleshed out but nothing concrete yet." I'm looking forward to it. Can we expect any new merch in the near future? "We have a couple of tees at the moment once they've run down we'll be working through a few new designs." Top 5 favourite albums? The Dillinger Escape Plan - Miss Machine Every Time I Die - Hot Damn Poison The Well - You Come Before You Link 80 - The Struggle Continues Capdown - Civil Disobedience What is the favourite show you have ever played? "With DEAD HANDS that's a difficult question playing live for me at least is always an experience that I struggle to measure." Most embarrassing on stage moment? "Well I almost shit myself on a recent run of gigs with Heriot... I'd over done it slightly the night before and my body wasn't at all pleased with being thrown around, so that was close I guess." I think that qualifies. So What bands do you draw inspiration from for your music? "For me it's The Chariot, Alkaline Trio, Every Time I Die, Dillinger Escape Plan, Full of Hell and Botch" What albums do you still listen to now that you listened to when you were younger? "I still listen to most of the Poison The Well stuff and Capdown especially."
If you could take the members from any bands and put them together to make one super band , who would you choose? "I'm literally the worst in terms of knowing the skills of guitarists, drummers and bass players. So I'll go for vocalists in like a brutal Four Tops type of scenario." Greg Puciato Kieth Buckley Matt Skibba Jeffrey Moreira It sounds like some kind of Hardcore Acapella group, but I dig it. Is there somewhere the readers can check you guys out? "Yeah we've got local shows with Trash Talk on the 3rd March and Darkest Hour 30th April both gigs are at The Flapper. If you're travelling a little further a field we're playing Effigy in Bristol with Big Business, Bossk and Employed To Serve. You can hear our stuff and see the 2 videos we've put out here" www.deadhandsband.bandcamp.com www.facebook.com/DEADHANDSmusic https://youtu.be/obFaR6ZBe5w
